To my daughters

A Dad is a person who is loving and kind,
And often he knows what you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens, suggests, and defined.
A dad can be one of your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs, but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient, helpful and strong In all that you do,

A dad's love plays a part.
There's always a place for him deep in your heart.
And each year that passes, you're even more glad,
More grateful and proud just to call him your dad!
Thank you, Dad... for listening and caring,
for giving and sharing, but, especially, for just being my dad

In Africa

In Africa the lion is no more
The jungle not his home
For he now opens a door
The corridors of power he is seen to roam
In Africa the monkey has left his tree
In Africa the snake no longer hides in the grass
In Africa bird and beast are all but gone

Too-quick

We move, the wheel must always move,
Nor always on the plain,
And if we move to such a goal
As wisdom hopes to gain,
Then you that drive, and know your Craft.
Will firmly hold the rein,
Nor lend an ear to random cried,
Or you may drive in vain,
For some cry ‘Quick’ and some cry ‘Slow’
But, while the hills remain,
Up hill ‘Too-slow’ will need the whip,
Down hill ‘Too-quick’ the chain.

Our hidden place

Each of us has a hidden place
Somewhere deep within ourselves
a place where we go to get away,
To think things through, to be alone.to be ourselves.
This unique place, where we confront our deepest feelings,
Becomes a storehouse of all our hopes, all our needs,
all our dreams
And even our unspoken fears.
It encompasses the essence of who we are and what we want to be.
But now and then, whether by chance or design,
Someone discovers a way into that place we thought was ours alone.
And we allow that person to see, to feel, and to share all the reason, all the uncertainty, and all the emotion we've stored up there.
That person adds new perspective to our hidden realm,
Then quietly settles down in there own corner of our special place.
Where a bit of themselves will stay forever.
And we call that person a friend

Watching the sky with lifeless eyes.

Thanks for wishing away our whole lives;
How would you like it if it was your life?
So let us lie down and close our eyes,
While we wipe our names from golden slates.
A timeless passion equalized,
While the days roll by uncompromisable.
Hands age, eyes weep,
As thirty years goes by in a heartbeat,
And a lifetime in one week.
Not so long ago the days were long,
But today the sun leaves us prematurely,
While the sky says farewell to brothers.
Thanks for looking us in the eyes,
And telling us all the lies,
That seemed so true once upon a time.
Let us stay ageless upon a world so ageist,
And perform in a world that’s stageless,
With all eyes on one life,
Will we ever noticed your life,
Watching the sky with lifeless eyes.

O.. Forever, still only seconds

One day to remember where we come from,
The revolutions of joy and sorrow,
That spin the earth,
Make lives, take lives.
One week to look back and laugh,
Because though it hasn't been long,
It will soon be long,
And we'll be waving goodbye for the last time.
One month to find ourselves lost again,
For sitting here is getting old,
Watching the faces age and break,
But so be the shattering effects of life and time.
One year to find ourselves aging for the last time
The cycles of one life,
Become the end of one life,
But still the fantasy lives on.
Ten years to feel nostalgic,
Let the clouds take us down,
For the days were plenty,
But still we stood broken.
100 years for death to do us part,
We came, we left,
But is the world any less blind?
Or were all the moments just moments.
1000 years to watch the world crumble,
And realize life is inferior,
To what it could be,
To what it should be.
One million years and still only seconds have passed.

I wonder if we were ever meant to fly.

Sometimes the whole world spins out of control, While
sometimes everything seems to makes sense. But sense is just man’s perception of sanity.
Sometimes life’s simplicity are deceivingly so.
Sometimes complication fades away into the night, A time of solitude and unawareness.
Sometimes the night’s a place of all-knowing, The answer to Nbms’s knot.
Sometimes we can’t save ourselves,
Sometimes we need a golden angle... An angel to fly down from the heavens and cast a shadow of forgiveness.
Sometimes angels don't have time to save humanity,
Sometimes humanity can’t be saved.
Sometimes pain doesn't lead to perfection just more pain.
Sometimes practice doesn't make perfection just mediocrity.
Sometimes what we want more then anything is the one thing we can’t have.
Sometimes the slightest ray of hope becomes a moment of certainty.
Sometimes we wake up and realize that it’s all a dream, The prospect of impossibility rears once more.
Sometimes we realize we were never asleep.
Sometimes the possibility of salvation is enough to make those most sane to ask questions, Questions of conditional importance
Sometimes time stops .. Stops without a whisper, Without warning or heed.
Sometimes we aren't ready for reality to reset.
Sometimes dreams are just dreams .. But sometimes they are gateways .. Gateways to our desires .. Desires hidden beneath denial and sanity.
Sometimes it would be easier to lose sanity, Lose it on an unlit trail. A trail that the lucky few venture, And none speak of.
Sometimes false annulments keep us from speaking our thoughts, Keep us from telling are deepest desires.
Sometimes only the earth listens when the sky is the only one you want.
Is it ... sometimes better to settle for second ?
When first place prize is more then a medallion, More then oxidized metal.
Sometimes first is life.
Sometimes second is regret,
Regret for not telling the sky your thoughts,
Regret of staying earthbound.
Sometimes the sky is more then clouds and sometimes those clouds make faces, The faces of our dreams.
Sometimes a face is all it takes to stop the world from spinning.
Sometimes a face is all it takes To keep us all on the ground.
Sometimes I wonder if we were ever meant to fly.

Last photo

For all these photos made us laugh once,
But today they’re just photos.
All these picturesque titles tell a story,
But no one knows how to tell it.
All these names are meaningless,
But still we learn them to heart
And tomorrow they’ll come to pass.
For all the angels have fallen today,
But still we say nothing more.
Without silence we’d never recognize,
All the thoughtless gestures.
For all these songs made us cry once,
But today we’re as hard as stone,
And as translucent as the rain that falls.
Not everyday is worth living,
But they all must be lived;
To find the days that are.
For these words made us smile once,
But we all read beyond literary masterpieces
From time to time.
The hollow shells will float to the surface,
If we’re ever going anywhere.
The truth goes done hard,
When our heads are clear for once;
But I guess it beats, a lifetime of denial.

To the rest of our life.

The visions of the past whirl by at untold speeds; This is more then moving forward; This is leaving the past behind, Forever.
Forever the memories will feel incomplete.
Forever the passion will burn on.
Forever the past will haunt us.
The rain washes out the smiles; But the only tears are those of
What will soon be, And what has been.
The only smiles are those of one last mountain.
But isn't there always one last mountain; One more reason to fight.
The rain washes out the smiles but we’re still laughing.
Spirits may not be dampened with such a routine simplicity.
The rain washes out the smiles but isn't it great; Realizing we’re all human.
In a time too close to death finding exhaustion is impossible.
In such a time lives are built, And memories are never lost.
In such a time
Re-sculpted thoughts don’t need new inspirations.
Once upon a time we all woke up lost; Scared in the dark with no trails to follow,
But what a trail it would have been, What a stage it could have been.
How long does it take to realize ?
That this comes around once in a lifetime ?
No matter how long it takes it will come.
It always comes when we least expect it.
Sometimes being bored is enough to send us tears; Tears of joy, Joy in remembrance.
Who among us can’t move mountains given the chance ?
Given the motivation.
Given the opportunity.
Three days of freedom.
Doesn't it feel like a month ?
Through freedom isn't there always one more chance to escape?
To find a place we have been told about since birth but have never witnessed; Never thought to be true.
When was it ?
When was the first moment that we realized this is where we want to be.
When was it ?
Not as long ago as it seems.
Even months can be broken, Broken into minutes, Seconds, Milliseconds.
200 thousand more seconds of chasing; Trying to keep from drifting too far and losing one more chance; One more chance that never happened but was relived until it felt real.
Where were we when the rain started ?
Because we sure as hell weren't here.
Where were we when the rain stopped ?
Because it must have been the worst moment of our lives.
Perhaps we all have three faces;  Three souls; Three chances for redemption.
We all can’t talk at once
We all have to listen at times; Listen to what we don’t want to hear but what we know is true.
Sometimes we portrait ourselves badly but we’ll wake.
The next day will always bring new fortune.
The next day will always bring new opportunity.
The next day will always bring us one day closer; Closer to where we want to be; The place we thought we left but now realize we can never truly leave.
It’s not truly the end; It’s never the end.
The moments live on through history;
The frustration will never truly disappear;
The hopes will never be vanquished;
Intelligence will never be questioned.
It’s not really over
When you wake up surrounded by the past everyday for the rest of your life.

Don't forget the honesty,

Don't forget the honesty,
That was once surrounding;
Honesty in a sea of panic,
Innocent in deaths eyes.
For to him your just
Another passenger on a
Never ending train ride.
Don't Forget to live;
Don't forget to breath,
In the fallen wasteland
That has become,
Which will always be.

Don't Forget to live

One More Time

How can we change ourselves from one night, When so many have come and gone?
How can we remember our thoughts, When so many have passed us by?
With a bow of our head, and a glance from the faint of heart,
The light shines right on through; Continuing on its own desolate path.
How could we have forgotten the faces the brought us here, When it’s them we face, thank and idol.
How can we expect you to know what we’re thinking, When we ourselves are left clueless?
Because when the stony walkways are covered in rain,

With just a flicker of fear and terror. When the faces have long but vanished
The path will become slippery, As they all do eventually.
Who is strong enough to stare into the eyes of a stranger,
And say those three words we never seen coming from ourselves?
Let us ride our emotions for as long as we’re breathing, Because too many times have we gave into the guilt, That we question thoroughly, and decisively.
When the door closes a lifetime will begin,

And we too will lose ourselves.
For who will save us all in times of separated shoulders and swallowed pride?
Today three is the theme of our lives, And through three we live, lie and breathe.
Through hollow truths and shallow thoughts,
We live to curse ourselves in consciousness;
For it was these three faces that told us three lies,
About three cities that we thought we knew.
Today all our guilt stands by, falls through and becomes just.
The past can never leave us, Just like the future may never be outran.
Which ever way sanctity lies, Yours have become even more impressive.
Yet again we thank you for your daring tricks,
That carries us on but somehow reminds us, Of the one thing that’s missing,
The one thing we always leave behind, And picture before we fade away.
It’s about time we whisper these three words that are long overdue,
Because you will never know what we’re thinking,
When we don't know ourselves.

An answer to a problem

In searching for an answer to a problem,
We look for someone to solve them.
We search and search and no one's there,
we keep on looking in our despair.
Where do we turn, who will help us out?
I need some answers to my questions we shout.
An answer came from the clouds above,
that's all you have to do is look to God in love.
So, if you are looking for someone to
answer your problem,
look to God and he will solve them.

By chance

Was it by chance that the world is round,
or that we can stand on solid ground?
Was it by chance that some birds can fly,
or that others can only try?
Where would the fish swim if there were no seas,
or build our buildings if there were no trees?
If there were no snow on top of the mountains,
where would we get fresh water for our fountains?
Was it by chance that this just came to be,
or was it designed for you and me?
God had it all planned out from the start.
We just have to look around and take it to heart.
Then the answer becomes very clear, you'll see,
That all of this was meant to be.

Eternity

I pledge allegiance to my love throughout eternity,
To praise her name in whatever i do, that's the way it is to be.
To help further her Kingdom with every chance I get,
To express my love for others as she gave her love, how i can forget.
To study her word so I know what life would have me to do,
To fulfill her work in everything until my life on earth is through.
These things I do pledge in deep humility,
To live with her memories throughout eternity.

time

When love turns to salt
Minds are defeated
When eyes begin to cry
Hearts get broken
When joy spits sorrow
When souls have gone
When a friend is lost
After tears, we learn

Chance is the one thing you can't buy....
You have to pay for it and you have to pay for it with your life,
spending a lot of time, you pay for it with time,
not the wasting of time but the spending of time.

The place where your heart will stay

Home is the place your heart resides
Home is the place that you decide
Home is the womb that holds the soul
Home is the place where one is whole
Home is the glow you hold in your eye
Home is the emotion that makes you cry
Home is safe and a place of peace
Home is where all striving cease
Home is protective against the others
Home is full of sisters and brothers
Home is where you find your rest
Home is where you feel your best
Home is a memory that follows your being
Home is a dream for those agreeing
Home is the place where reserves fall
Home is the place you yearn to call
Home is where the family meets
Home is a place of restful retreats
Home is the place you know you’ll be heard
Home is the pace where nothing blurs
Home is all these wonderful things
Home is the place you develop wings
Home is the place that you’ll find one day
Home is the place where your heart will stay

Abyss

You look into my eyes to the core of my soul
Where I feel numb and nothing but an empty hull
Where my heart beats so slow, I'm barely alive
I've built so many walls, just to survive

I've said that "At the abyss we start to change"
O, too late now let me fall into the abyss in my endless black hole

Nowhere

Sometimes, we find ourselves in the middle of nowhere;
And
Sometimes in the middle of nowhere, we find ourselves

Be together once more

I would rather see a flower, than hear about it any day,
I would rather one would walk with me than merely show the way.
The eye's a better pupil and more willing than the ear,
Fine counsel is confusing, but example's ... always clear.
And the best of all the flowers are the women who live their creeds,
For to see the good in action is what everybody needs.
I can soon learn how to do it, if you'll let me see it done,
I can watch your hands in action, but your tongue too fast may run.
And the lectures you deliver may be wise and true,
But I'd rather get my lesson by observing what you do.
For I may misunderstand you and the high advice you give,
But there's no misunderstanding how you act and how you live.

Just for awhile at the end of the year greetings fly
greetings fly fast as we crowd through the door
And under the old roof we may be together once more.

Petty selfishness

Search history, my boy, and see what petty selfishness has done.
Find if you can one victory that little minds have ever won.
There is no record there to read of men who fought for self alone,

No instance of a single deed splendor they may proudly own.
Through all life's story you will find The miser with his hoarded gold a hermit, dreary and unkind,
An outcast from the human fold.
Men hold him up to view with scorn,
A creature by his wealth enslaved,
A spirit craven and forlorn,
Doomed by the money he has saved.
No man was ever truly great who sought to serve himself alone,
Who put himself above the state,
Above the friends about him thrown.
No man was ever truly glad who risked his joy on hoarded pelf,
And gave of nothing that he had through fear of needing it himself.
For selfishness is wintry cold, And bitter are its joys at last,
The very charms it tries to hold, With woes are quickly overcast.
And only he shall gladly live, And bravely die when God shall call,
Who gathers but that he may give, And with his fellows shares his all.
